A Doctor from Another World

Fridrik comes!

Ragnheiður had been very sick for 2-3 months. Doctors didn’t know what else to do and it was only getting worse. Finally the doctor said that she will likely not survive the night. Then her father Björgvin sent a telegram to a girl named Margrét, who lived in Eyjafjörður. She was spiritually gifted and Björgvin believed in this as well. She answered with a telegram with these words “Friðrik kemur” (Fridrik will come). During the night, that was supposed to be her last night alive, both her mother and father (Oddny and Björgvin) fell asleep. Ragnheiður's sister Gunnþóra woke during the night and saw a stranger standing over Ragnheiður's bed, and holding his hand over her. In the morning Ragnheiður was not sick anymore.

There is a name for doctors like this Fridrik in icelandic- huldulæknir - a doctor from the other world.
